Talking Therapy

Therapy isn’t just for a crisis – it provides a non-judgmental space to process challenging life events and get support during hard transitions.

Your therapist will help you express your experiences, feel your emotions, organise your thoughts, and gain perspective on difficult decisions. Talking therapy helps you make sense of your past and its impact on current relationships. You will understand yourself better, notice unhelpful behaviour patterns, and learn new skills for everyday life. Your therapist will challenge you to grow and make meaningful changes for a more fulfilled life.

Walk & Talk – an alternative approach

If you don’t like sitting in a therapy room, try Walk & Talk! Walking side by side with your therapist may be more comfortable and provide a relaxed, open environment for discussing your thoughts and feelings. You can even bring your dog!

Walk & Talk combines movement, nature, and counselling. Movement helps release painful emotions and tension, while engaging the senses creates grounding and a body-mind connection. Studies show that time in nature releases endorphins, creating a natural high. Walking improves circulation, providing oxygen and nutrients to organs, which helps clear thinking and lowers blood pressure and stress. For office workers, time in nature enhances concentration, creativity, and reduces isolation.

Your issues are in your tissues – Therapeutic Yoga

Yoga can complement therapy when we are stuck or struggling to make progress. We may understand our issues and know what to change but still be unable to act. Our emotions can weigh us down and get stuck in our bodies. Despite our brain’s efforts, it gets nowhere. In these instances, using the body to change the mind is helpful.

Emotions need motion—therapeutic yoga helps us notice physical sensations tied to emotions, accept and feel them, and let them pass by moving through them. Mindful movement grounds us in the present, allowing us to explore sensations, thoughts, and emotions without feeling overwhelmed. Conscious breathing regulates the nervous system, reducing anxiety and enhancing emotional control. Simple yoga poses and breathing exercises can manage stress and improve mood outside therapy sessions.
